The goal will be to maximize Company sales on key projects.
This position provides sales and technical support to sales force and customers (buying and non-buying) consistent with Company Strategy on the key jobsites for the regions they cover.
Co-ordinate efforts of entire team, Account Manager (AM), Field Engineer (FE), Business Developer (BD), Regional Manager (RM), & Corporate Support, associated with key projects on converting the obtained project specifications into sales.
Provide a central point of contact on key jobsites to keep communication dynamic among the regional team.
Provide technical seminars on specified products such as anchoring, fire stop, and Direct Fastening (DX). Local FE and, if applicable, Promote education to A&E firms, contractors, & inspection community on Company relevant code changes. Local FE and FPS (if applicable) may also be a part of this task.
Hold key job site meetings to ensure focus is maintained and to track progress of team efforts on key projects.
Track sales and action plan progress with the assistance of the RM’s and AM’s with the help of Company provided tracking tools.
Record and communicate successes and lost opportunities providing information as to why we were successful or unsuccessful.
Establish and maintain high level contacts with key buying and non-buying customers on key projects.
Work with AM’s, RM’s, Product Managers, and BDs on pricing issues for Company products on key projects.
Frequently visit key job sites to gain application knowledge to pass on to AMs, RMs, and DMs.
Develop site relationships, and to gain a better understanding of the contractor’s, design firms and owner’s needs on future project.
Take notes of project progression and confirm products purchased for specific applications to create a project manual that may also include testimonials and application photos.
Determine large volume Company relevant potential and coordinate these opportunities with Material management in a timely manner.
Work with non-local Company support personnel, such as FE’s and FPS’ to gain Company specification on key projects, some travel maybe required.
|8 years minimum experience in engineering, construction, or related technical field with 4 years minimum experience as a Field Engineer, Sales Engineer, Fire Protection Specialists, or Account Managers M preferred. Persons with eight years construction experience and engineering aptitude may also be considered.
Must have proven leadership skills.
Knowledge of construction methods and practices, including bid processes, change orders, estimating, scheduling, etc. required. Understands entire project team (architect, engineers, owners, PM’s, superintendents, inspectors, safety personnel, purchasing, etc) and how they fit together.
Understands and can coach selling skills to Account Managers. Must also be able to lead entire Company team through to completion of project.
Strong organizational skills: Must be able to organize multiple projects and track successes or lost opportunities we are having and bring this knowledge to the next project.
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Good computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Power Point at a minimum.
